Indians Tame the Indomitable Aussies

India's historic win against the Aussies in the recently concluded Commonwealth Bank Tri-Series has been hailed by many as a defining moment in cricketing history. Beating the Kangaroos in their own backyard is not an easy task, especially when they have been the dominators of world cricket since the 1990s. Although Ricky Ponting's men still remain on top of the ICC rankings, they have lost the 'Invincible' tag, bowing down to bunch of spirited, young Indians.

Australia's loss of supremacy, however, does not come as much of a surprise. With the majority of the team being on the wrong side of the 30s, it was only a matter of time before they were upstaged by some young, fresh blood. What is significant, however, is the way in which the Indians have managed to defeat them. The Indians played tough cricket on field, remained unfazed by the Aussie gamesmanship, and what's more, paid them back in their own coin. Throughout the series, the Indian players looked confident, and under the able leadership of M S Dhoni, managed to bring out their best for the country.
